Improvements on way for A70 Carnwath
Published: Tuesday 12 May 2026
Repairs are to take place on the A70 Carnwath from next week.
The road will be closed between Dykefoot Farm access and the South Lanarkshire boundary from Monday 18 May for up to four days to allow for carriageway surface dressing works.
A local diversion will be in place via: A70, B7008, A71, A704, A706, A721 and A70
Head of Roads, Fleet and Transportation Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience that may occur during these essential road improvement works.
“We would request that all road users allow additional time for all journeys which involve the use of A70 Carnwath during the period indicated and that they plan their journey accordingly.
“I am sure road users will appreciate the much-improved condition of the road when the works are complete and thank them for their patience.”
